Want to transfer your drawings to another surface or use found photos or printed images in artwork? Try using graphite transfer paper. Transfer paper is an excellent tool to speed up the artistic creation process. It works in the same way as carbon paper transmits images, but it is exclusively for artists and designers. Although the lines left by the carbon paper remain the same, the unwaxed graphite transfer paper will leave a line that can be erased and will not ooze from the paint (although the watercolor artist should be aware that some watercolors can solidify the graphite and make the line permanent). Simply slide a piece of graphite paper between your image and the drawing surface, the graphite-covered side facing down, and use a pointed pencil or pen to draw on the outline of the image. Look! The first commercially produced transfer paper, Saral paper, was developed in the 1950s by Sara "Sally" Albertis, an artist who was tired of making her own. This paper is available in five colors (graphite, red, blue, white, and yellow), and the marks produced will not be dirty and easy to erase. Because the paper does not contain wax, it can be washed off the fabric or wipe off the lines with a sponge, and a hot iron will not fix them. Richeson's graphite transfer paper rolls are 24 inches wide and 24 feet long, making them ideal for large projects. It will draw clean, clear lines on paper, wood, canvas and ceramics. This lightweight paper is designed to save you time on art and handicraft projects, can easily capture the fine details in the original image, and will not stain after transfer. Note, however, that the lines are very dark and may not be completely erased from cold press paper and other soft papers.

This product is manufactured by Saral and named after the company's founder and is designed for artists and designers. Compared with Saral's regular transfer paper, graphite coating is lighter in weight, making it ideal for watercolor artists and graphic designers who want to use lighter lines.
