Ashland Open Studio Tour: The Ashland Gallery Association will host its ninth annual Ashland Open Studio Tour from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 15-16. Over twenty visual artists based in Ashland, Talent, and Phoenix will open their workspaces to the public to show off their creative realms, offer demonstrations and discuss their techniques. Art & Soul Ashland: The gallery features paintings in a variety of mediums and styles by local and regional artists. Running throughout the month of October, see photographic work by featured artist Tom Glassman, who composes his shots in camera with no post processing involved other than initial color correction. Art du Jour Gallery: See exhibits by local artists in myriad mediums such as watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, pen-and-ink, Conté crayon, collage, sculpture, photography, mixed media and more. Throughout October, see the group exhibit, “Autumn,” featuring work by member artists displaying their interpretations of the fall season. The Salon will showcase the works of multimedia artist Roy Musitelli and fiber/jewelry artist Thalia Keple. The gallery, located at 213 E. Art Presence Art Center: The gallery, which features work in a variety of mediums by local artists is located at 206 N. Fifth St., Jacksonville, and will be open from noon to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. The Main Gallery will exhibit new work by member artists in a variety of mediums including oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic and fabric. Ashland Art Works: The gallery features work of local artists in a variety of mediums, including ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts, jewelry, and garden art. Throughout the month of October, woodworks by John Weston and mixed media textiles by Claudia Law will be the featured exhibits. Fiber Arts Collective: See the work of approximately 30 fiber artisans at 37 N. Third St., Ashland. Grants Pass Museum of Art: The museum, located upstairs, at 229 S. W. G St., Grants Pass, features work by local and regional artists. Beginning Sept. 27 and running through Nov. 11, see Japanese woodblock prints by Walt Padgett. The museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and by appointment. Admission to the museum is free. The retail gallery, Gallery One, located at street-level of the museum, features the work of approximately 60 local artists. Hanson Howard Gallery: The gallery, located at 89 Oak St., Ashland, features works in an array of mediums including painting, sculpture, ceramics and fine art prints. See work by featured artist Tom Hausken, featuring a variety of materials including traditional oils, industrial coatings, graphite, paper, and canvas, on exhibit through Oct. 22. Rogue Gallery & Art Center: The gallery, featuring work by local artists, at 40 S. Bartlett St., Medford, will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. The Community Gallery features paintings and sculptures by Anne Stagg in the exhibit “Sight Lines,” on display through Oct. 14. The Members’ Gallery features all new work by over 35 RGAC members in myriad mediums. The Berryman Gallery, a satellite exhibition space of RGAC, located on the second floor lobby of the Craterian Theater, 23 S. Schneider Museum of Art: Southern Oregon University’s Schneider Museum of Art will open their Fall Exhibitions featuring contemporary abstract art by Mel Prest, “The Golden Hour,” and curated exhibit “Sensate Objects,” on Thursday, Oct. 6. The exhibits will be on display through Dec. 10. A solo exhibition of Prest’s work will be in the Main gallery, her curated group exhibition, which features work by thirteen artists will be shown in the Heiter and Treehaven galleries. Masterworks on Loan will also be on display in the Entry Gallery. An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 6; Mel Prest and several other participating artists will be in attendance. Live music will be provided by The Brothers Reed. The opening reception is free and open to the public.
