Princess Diana of Themyscira is not the world's first female comic hero, but she is-and may always be-the most famous. Before appearing in TV series, cartoons and Hollywood blockbusters, Wonder Woman first appeared in the 8th issue of the All-Star Comics, which appeared on newsstands in the fall of 1941. She later amazed readers when she made her debut in January 1942. The cover of that question, Sensation Comics No. 1, declares that the Amazon Warrior is a "sensational new adventure stripper." This beloved superhero may no longer be a newcomer, but after eight years, she is still a sensation as always. To prove this, just look at the collection of Wonder Woman-related items in the Heritage Auctions archive-and the hard-to-find copy of the All-Star Comic No. 8, which will be available at Heritage from November 18th to 21st.
